Back in 2002, Woodhead Investments & Development Services LTD speculatively acquired 4 acres of land just off the A61 Ripon Road at Killinghall. The former cricket ground was previously let to British Gas Cricket Club’s ‘C’ team.
For years we have been keen for the site to be used for residential development. Eventually, we entered a collaboration agreement with the owner of the neighbouring 4 acres of land before applying for planning permission to develop on the whole site.
Permission was granted (subject to 40% affordable housing) and the site was subsequently marketed by Leeds based agents Adair Paxton.
Speaking to the Harrogate Informer, Bruce Collinson of Adair Paxton said,
“It’s a cracking green field site, which attracted tremendous interest from several major housebuilders, but it was Yorkshire Housing that successfully outbid them and secured the deal.”
Yorkshire Housing will be responsible for the ongoing housing developments, and the site is set to feature more affordable housing.
The Woodhead Investments team worked tirelessly with its partners in order to reach a conclusion suitable for all parties and we look forward to seeing the building-work develop. We’re immensely proud of this achievement which is one of our most successful in our time as one of Yorkshire’s most reputable property developers.
